1. Who makes ROPES?
We are students of the Masters of Literature and Publishing at the University of Galway. This year we are producing the 32nd edition of the journal in aid of Galway Simon Community.
2. Who can submit to ROPES?
ROPES is open to everyone. We are especially eager to hear from emerging writers and artists, both in Ireland and across the globe!
3. What can I submit to ROPES?
ROPES accepts a variety of written and visual work, including, but not limited to, fiction, flash fiction, poetry, memoirs, essays, art, and photography. All submissions should be original, previously unpublished work. Please see our Submissions Guide for more information.
4. Where can I find the Submissions Guide?
You can find the Submissions Guide under the 'Submissions' tab. This will tell you everything you need to know about the word count, formatting, submission limit, etc.
5. When will ROPES be published?
Issue 32 of ROPES will be launched in April 2024 with the Cúirt International Festival of Literature.
6. Where can I purchase ROPES?
We will be selling this year’s edition of ROPES on our online store. ROPES will also be available for purchase in select local Irish bookstores. Keep an eye on our social media to see where you can pick up your copy!
7. Will contributors be paid?
As all proceeds for ROPES will be donated to Galway Simon Community, we are unable to offer monetary compensation. However, we will offer contributors one free copy of ROPES 2024.
